Hanover County 250 and Hanover County American Legion Posts are holding a county-wide oratorical contest on Saturday, March 28.
The contest will be held at the historic Hanover Courthouse in honor of the anniversary of Patrick Henry’s famous “Give me liberty or give me death” speech. Contestants will be reciting a portion of the speech. The contest is open to all Hanover students (public, private or homeschool) with cash prizes ($500, $300, and $100) for each school level respectively (high, middle, and elementary). Dressing as Patrick Henry is optional.
Upon receipt of registration, an email will be sent containing contest rules & regulations and a copy of Patrick Henry's speech.
